Africa-Press – Cape verde. On Thursday and Friday, São Vicente is hosting a scientific and cultural collaboration event featuring health professionals from Cape Verde and the United States, who will discuss mental health and substance use, Inforpress reported today.
According to a statement sent to Inforpress, the event is organized by the Mental Health Subcommittee of the Association of Cape Verdean-American Physicians, in partnership with the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA), the São Vicente Health Delegation, and the University of Mindelo (Uni-Mindelo).
According to the same source, the event—themed “Mental Health and Substance Use: What Intervention Strategies?”—aims to provide professional updates through engagement with field specialists, discuss real-world cases and clinical practices, and strengthen local networks as well as inter-institutional ties.
Participants also intend to share experiences in the field and contribute to the collaborative development of sustainable strategies for mental health in the region.
