Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of the Sea, Abraão Vicente, presided today the Coordination meeting of the United Nations System in Cape Verde in the meeting room of the Ministry of the Sea, in São Vicente.

According to a note from the Ministry of the Sea, sent to Inforpress, the meeting aims to revisit the ongoing or planned programs and initiatives related to the promotion of the blue economy in Cape Verde, promoted by the ministry, the United Nations and the World Bank. It intends to promote the continuous improvement of mechanisms for articulating international cooperation with the country’s priorities in the field of the blue economy.

The meeting also aims to define the thematic groups that will support the intersectoral technical work in favor of the transition to the blue economy, contributing to strengthening the expertise of the Management Committee of the Charter in favor of the Blue Economy, defining a roadmap for the implementation of the articulation mechanism. In addition, proposed coordination and presentation of the ongoing or planned programs or initiatives in the area by the Ministry of the Sea, the United Nations and the World Bank.

In addition to Abraão Vicente, the resident coordinator, Ana Touza, and the team of representatives of agencies working in the blue economy sector and a representative of the World Bank will participate in this meeting.
