Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Director of IT Systems at Electra SA considered today, in Mindelo, that more incentives are needed for people to think about purchasing electric cars in the country, including betting on the reduction of bank loan rates.
Jakson Pachito made the remarks on the sidelines of the commemoration of the World Energy Day held by the Institute of Marine Engineering and Sciences (Isecmar), of the Technical University of the Atlantic (UTA), marked since this Monday, 29th, and with Electra as one of the partners of the activities.
The water and energy production and distribution company participated with the exhibition of its electric car, which, according to the same source, is one of the company’s objectives, along with other programs, to raise awareness of people investing in this type of vehicle and choose sustainability.
Jakson Pachito believes that there are already some incentives at state level for this change, but he asked for more, for example, at the level of banks in reducing interest rates for this type of investment.
