Africa-Press – Cape verde. Principals and teachers at some secondary schools in Praia assured this Monday that the school year began normally and without any problems, as the necessary conditions have been created.
During a morning tour of the capital’s high schools, it was confirmed that the schools opened without any problems, with students consulting their schedules and, especially, with children accompanied by their parents and guardians, in a setting that is already familiar at the beginning of classes.
In an interview with Inforpress, the principal of Group 6, Celina Mendes, stated that “everything is ready for the start of classes, from the schedules to the classrooms.”
A similar statement was made by Antonio Afonso, principal of the Cesaltina Ramos Technical School, who also highlighted the opening of a new cafeteria, which did not exist last year, reinforcing that “the conditions are in place to welcome students without any problems.”
The Cônego Jacinto High School also opened its doors today to welcome students from 9th to 12th grade.
At Manuel Lopes State School, there was a lot of activity with students checking schedules, looking for classrooms, and showing great excitement for the start of classes.
At Pedro Gomes Secondary School, attendance was lower this first morning.
Teacher Délcio Varela assured that, although some students had not yet shown up, the start of classes went smoothly, explaining that “it’s almost become a tradition, as many students don’t show up on the first days of classes.”
However, some students highlighted minor difficulties.
Gisela Andrade said she still hasn’t been able to find her classroom or schedule.
A similar situation was reported by Elton, who expects the issue to be resolved in the coming days.
Despite these specific difficulties, the educational community considers that the start of the school year occurred normally, with teachers and students motivated for the new school year.
