Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verde Scout Association (AECV) is promoting, from this Thursday until Sunday, the third National Forum of Young Scouts, an event that aims to strengthen youth involvement in decision-making processes and consolidate leadership within the movement.
Under the motto “Leading by example, transforming with action,” the forum will have its official opening this Friday, the 20th, at 4:00 PM, in the Conference Room of the Government Palace, in Praia.
In statements to Inforpress, the vice-president of the forum committee, Luigi Pina, explained that the meeting was designed as a privileged space for young scouts to express opinions, share experiences, and contribute directly to the development of their associations.
According to the same source, the forum will allow for “dialogue between young people and association leaders,” promoting greater proximity and strengthening the relationship between the different levels of leadership within the scouting movement.
The event program, which brings together representatives from various associations in the archipelago, includes training sessions on youth leadership, discussion panels focused on the functioning of the groups, and various interactive activities.
According to Luigi Pina, one of the highlights of the forum will be the renewal of the youth committee team, composed of members between 18 and 22 years old, who act as mediators with the associative structures.
The vice-president of the committee took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of this initiative in the personal development of the participants, appealing to the “proactivity and commitment” of young people to leadership and social intervention.
