Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Internal Affairs regretted the death of the 8 soldiers in the Serra Malagueta accident, one of whom was a sergeant, and offered condolences to the families of the victims and the Armed Forces, as well as to the family of the young technician Gabi who lost his life fighting the fire. In a statement, the ministry says it is “closely” monitoring the survivors.
Janine Lélis, Minister of State and National Defence, lamented the loss of these “brave men who, with their lives, served this country”.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that it is closely monitoring the clinical status of the surviving soldiers and that they are hospitalized in health services receiving medical treatment.
Remember, they were going to help fight the Serra Malagueta fire when the accident occurred, having overturned the truck they were traveling in.
The possible causes behind this tragedy have not yet been officially identified.
