Africa-Press – Cape verde. The chairman of the board of directors of the public passenger transport company, in the city of Praia – Sol Atlântico – today considered “ethically objectionable” the possible departure of its drivers, to be recruited by a company in the same branch, in Portugal.

“We still haven’t received any termination requests. For us, this exit is strange, I’m not saying it’s illegal, but given that it’s an exit for a company of the same kind, I think it’s ethically reprehensible”, he stressed.

According to this official, hiring is not doing as they did, that is, arriving here and picking up trained drivers with experience and taking them away, warning that prospecting and examinations must be carried out.

“So far no driver has arrived to say he is leaving, but they are bigger, it’s their decision, if it’s correct or not, if it’s better for them or not, we have no comment to make,” he said.

If you lose your professionals, you expect that you will have to replace at least thirty new drivers, that is, the same number of those hired by the Portuguese company Auto Viação Feirense.

It should be remembered that on the morning of October 4th, a Portuguese delegation was in Praia, after being in Mindelo working on the recruitment process of these professionals, having registered a flood of about 400 drivers who went to deliver their applications.

On the day, many drivers, coming from various parts of the island of Santiago and even from other islands, such as Sal, were outraged at being excluded from the competition, in favor of Sol Atlântico professionals, allegedly because of their experience in branch.
