Africa-Press – Cape verde. A group of teachers who teach at the Cesaltina Ramos Technical School – ASA, in Praia, denounced to Inforpress what they consider “disorganization and mess” generated with the reforms introduced in the technical School in the school year 2022/23.
As reported, since the beginning of the year the teachers of the new subjects introduced have been teaching without programs, with the school management asking the teachers to have programs and planning for the first quarter, when almost two months had passed since the start of classes.
“There are no programs for any of the new subjects that have been introduced”, confided one of the teachers, adding, “the normal, the correct way and according to the law”, is for the Ministry of Education to design programs for teachers to implement.
“Here in Cape Verde, private schools are free to propose their curriculum proposals to the Ministry, which may or may not be approved. In the public sector, the Government guarantees programs, council coordination, teacher training, a broad council, so that everything works in unison in all schools. This year everything is messed up”, he lamented.
