Africa-Press – Cape verde. The City Hall of Santa Catarina, in the interior of Santiago, inaugurated this Thursday, in Assomada, the requalification works of the playground of Achada Riba, called Park Tchada Riba, in an investment of 16 million Escudos.
The act, framed in the festivities of the Day of the Municipality and of the patron saint Santa Catarina, who celebrates 188 years this Friday, November 25. It was co-chaired by the mayor, Jassira Monteiro, by the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, and by the chairman of the board of directors of CV Telecom, João Domingos Correia.
The work, which will serve children of Assomada, includes children’s equipment, bathrooms for both sexes, a kiosk and leisure areas.
For the mayor of Santa Catarina, Jassira Monteiro, the playground, now reopened, represents hope for the children of Santa Catarina and that the municipality that runs it has already begun to know “better days”.
