Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Communities highlighted this Monday the relations between Cape Verde and the United States of America (USA) emphasizing that the history of emigration of Cape Verdeans to that country is the history of the Cape Verdean nation.
Jorge Santos was speaking this morning at a formal reception session for a delegation from the United States of America, integrated by the senior authorities from the State University Bridgewater State University (BSU) and representatives of the State of Massachusetts, which is on an official mission in Cape Verde.
The official thanked and praised the “honorable presence” of the North American delegation, addressing a “special word” to BSU, stating that the presence of the president and of “such an important academic delegation” signifies the importance that this university places on the relationship with Cape Verde.
“It’s 20 years of relations [between BSU and Cape Verde], it’s 20 years of training Cape Verdeans too, it’s 20 years of research and study of our community in the United States of America, but it’s also 20 years relating to the Cape Verdean State in the development of higher education on our islands”, he stressed.
