Africa-Press – Cape verde. Service revenue rates registered, in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 3.5% in the annual comparison, while in relation to the previous quarter the growth was 5.6%, according to data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE ).
According to IBGE, accommodation and food activities, with an increase of 18.6%, and information and communication, which grew 14.8%, were those that contributed the most positively.
The aggregate index was driven mainly by accommodation and food activities, which contributed 3.8 percentage points (p.p.) to the positive variation, and by information and communication activities, with 0.6 p.p.
On the other hand, INE states that the other sections presented a negative contribution of 0.9 p.p., showing an unequal performance between the different subsectors.
With regard to employment, indices for services showed a year-on-year increase of 2.9% for full-time work and 3.2% for total employment in the sector. The gross remuneration index grew 5.2% in the annual comparison and registered a quarterly variation of 1.6%, showing an improvement in salary conditions.
