Africa-Press – Cape verde. The University of Cape Verde is promoting, on the 19th of this month, the first international colloquium on new directions and current trends in education that will honor the Brazilian educator and educational philosopher Paulo Freire.

According to the Uni-CV information note, the event is held by the Faculty of Education and Sports (FAED), in collaboration with the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Porto and the Lusophone International Movement, under the motto “The Teacher as an interpreter and inciter of paths”.

The colloquium, according to the same source, will take place this Friday, starting a space for dialogue and reflection on current trends in education, considering that it will be an opportunity for future educators, teachers and researchers to explore topics relevant to educational philosophy, “ against the backdrop of the legacy of Paulo Freire, an emblematic figure who had a profound impact on education in Cape Verde and the world”.

The note also states that the opening session will be attended by personalities from the academic and cultural scene, followed by conferences and panels on various topics, from environmental ethics in education to educational aesthetics.

The colloquium will bring together experts from various institutions who, through their presentations and debates, will enrich the discussion on the evolution of education and its role in integral human development.
