Abidjan, June 09, 2022 (AIP) – Côte d’Ivoire was forced to a draw (0-0), at the Soweto stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, Thursday June 9, 2022, by Lesotho, in a match counting for the 2nd day in group H of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers which will be organized on Ivorian soil.
With this result, Côte d’Ivoire still retains the lead of the group with 4 points ahead of the Comoros Islands and Zambia, which each total 3 points. Lesotho, with a point, remains the red lantern.
For their second outing, Zambia, who played at home, got the better of the Comoros Islands (2-1).
The 3rd and 4th days in September will be double confrontations. Côte d’Ivoire will cross swords with the Comoros Islands when Zambia will do battle with Lesotho.
