Africa-Press – Eritrea. The Northern Red Sea Region reported that it is showcasing its marine resources as well as the lifestyles of the Tigre, Afar, Rashaida, and Bidawiet ethnic groups at the National Festival 2025. The report was made by the region’s coordinating committees.

Mr. Seid Saleh, head of the exhibition committee, said that the exhibition aims to acquaint the public with activities being carried out on the islands and along the seashores, as well as with the products of various national enterprises operating in the region.

Highlighting the unique display compared to previous years, Mr. Seid noted that it features the region’s fish resources, the production of DMK and fish powder by women entrepreneurs, as well as sign language presentations.

Regarding the regional village at the festival, Mr. Yotam Gezae, head of festivals and arts, said that the displays include traditional house construction, artifacts, beauty salons, costumes, and other items that reflect the lifestyle and traditions of the region’s ethnic groups.

Mr. Tekleweini Negasi, head of intangible heritage at the Culture and Sports Department in the region, said that traditional dances, songs, and folklore of the Tigre, Afar, Saho, and Rashaida ethnic groups, based on research studies, are also being presented.
