Africa-Press – Eritrea. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the 2025 edition of the CAF Awards will take place in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, celebrating Africa’s finest footballers, coaches, and teams.
According to CAF, the prestigious ceremony is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT / 20:00 Cairo time) at a venue yet to be disclosed.
The annual awards recognize the continent’s standout performers across multiple categories, honouring those whose excellence for club and country has set them apart over the past year.
Among the categories to be contested are:
CAF African Player of the Year (Men and Women)
CAF Coach of the Year (Men and Women)
National Team of the Year (Men and Women)
Club of the Year (Men and Women)
CAF Young Player of the Year
CAF noted that the nominees for both the men’s and women’s top player categories have already been unveiled, setting the stage for another exciting race for the continent’s highest individual honours.
The men’s award has seen Nigeria’s dominance in recent years, with Ademola Lookman clinching the 2024 title and Victor Osimhen taking home the honour in 2023.
Prior to them, Senegal’s Sadio Mané won the accolade in 2022 and 2019, while Egypt’s Mohamed Salah was the recipient in 2018.
On the women’s side, Zambia’s Barbra Banda claimed the 2024 crown, breaking Nigeria’s streak led by Asisat Oshoala, who won the award three times in 2023, 2022, and 2019.
South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana last lifted the trophy in 2018.
The upcoming ceremony in Morocco promises to be another glittering night for African football, showcasing the continent’s talent, growth, and global impact.
