The road to the 2026 World Cup is picking up speed, with the first deadline set for May 13. By this date, head coaches must submit their preliminary squads, comprising between 35 and 55 players, marking the start of the strategic pre-selection phase for the qualified nations.
Next comes May 25, the deadline by which clubs are required to release the players called up.
This key moment allows national teams to begin their intensive training camps and assemble their core squads immediately after the conclusion of domestic leagues.
Finally, the moment of truth will arrive on June 1 with the submission of the official and final rosters.
Each team will then have to make its final cuts, retaining only 23 to 26 players, thereby sealing the final squad ready to compete for the ultimate title on the world stage.
