Africa-Press – Eswatini. King Mswati allegedly performed rituals(kukhanyisa indlela) ahead of his SADC trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) this week.
The rituals were performed by the King around 12 mid-night on Monday at Ludzidzini Royal Palace and lasted for about 3hours.
Reached for comments, Ludzidzini Governor Lusendvo Fakudze said he was not at the Palace and referred questions to Indvuna Themba Ginindza.
“Shayela Indvuna Ginindza, mine ngisekhaya ngalokungaphili, kute lengikwatiko kwakaNgwane(meaning:Call Indvuna Ginindza, I am away due to my health condition and not aware of what is going kaNgwane(at Ludzidzini Palace),” said the Governor.
Efforts to reach Indvuna Themba Ginindza proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Highly classified electronic evidence sourced inside Ludzidzini Palace on Monday evening suggests that among others, the King performed the rituals to gain strength in defending the country before SADC Heads of States.
“We are confident that he will respond well and clarify letindzaba talaba bemanga(meaning: We are confident that he will respond well and clarify the misinformation)”, said a senior servant of the King as contained in the electronic evidence.
The names of those who performed the rituals to the King cannot be revealed to protect our sources, however, after performing the rituals, it transpired that the ‘gods’ gave Mswati a go ahead to travel to the SADC meeting assuring him of a safe journey.
It has been disclosed that King Mswati avoided meeting of the Southern African Development Community(SADC)during the Chairmanship of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on fears that Ramaphosa was soft on the eSwatini pro-democracy movement.
Reached for comments, Sibongile Mazibuko, the Chairperson of the Political Parties Assembly(PPA) said performing rituals would not save the King in the midst of the political situation, she urged him to surrender himself and embrace a political dialogue.
“Umutsi wakhe kadze waphupha, sekute latawubhaca khona nyalo, the money used to perform rituals should have been used to pay scholarships, supply drugs in hospitals including food in the various schools. Performing rituals will not save him, he must surrender himself and embrace a political dialogue,” said the President of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress(NNLC) who doubles as the PPA Chairperson.
It has been disclosed that after the King performed rituals on Monday evening, in the early hours on Tuesday, police and soldiers were deployed along the road leading to the King Mswati III International Airport(Sikhuphe) to provide security ahead of the King’s trip to the DRC.
Worth-noting, in the electronic evidence sourced from Ludzidzini Palace, it was stated that the King was performing rituals(kuvula indlela) to the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) SADC meeting.
