Africa-Press – Eswatini. Excitement over the Lillies Mass Choir has helped the group join the iPraise top 10 before its official formation.
The group is still in its formation stages was also currently competiting for a spot on the MTN iPraise festival.
The gospel show will be held on October 1 and the group will be officially announced on August 20.
MTN iPraise Project Manager Tammy Dlamini said the Lillies Mass Choir was voted for by the public to run in the MTN iPraise competition.
Dlamini clarified that that they had no control over who the public voted for. He made it clear that the choir was voted in purely by the public.
Dlamini said for them to make it into the top 10, their supporters put in good effort to make sure they made it onto the list. “We congratulate them on their nomination,” he added.
He further explained that they opened the list to all gospel artists in Eswatini, recording or not. Dlamini said this was important for them to do because the country was loaded with talent.
“We want to make it a platform for all artists, whether known or upcoming and give equal opportunity to everyone,” said Dlamini.
Furthermore, Dlamini said that they had not heard anything from the choir in terms of them accepting or denying the nomination.
He said the group would be expected to perform if they were to be selected to be among the top five to perform on stage.
The public can now vote for their top five artists for free on Ayoba, MTN’s fastest growing social media platform, by sending the artists code to 7888 6161 or by dialing *7768#, selecting option 1 and entering the artists code at a cost of E1.
