Africa-Press – Eswatini. Correctional Services side Green Mamba mean business in the upcoming 2022/23 football season.

Coach Ernest Mavuso said his side was taking shape after the signing of former Mbabane Highlanders captain Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Mbabane Swallows orthodox midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu. Green Mamba are desperate to retain to the panicle after blowing cold in recent seasons with their last trophy coming in the form of the Ingwenyama Cup in March 2020.

Mavuso, the former Highlanders and Moneni Pirates coach said, his latest signings ‘Sikhali’ and ‘D4D’ were in every coach’s wish list.

“We are building a competitive team.

Deliver

A coach is hired to deliver, especially because our contracts are performance based.

Every coach wants these kinds of players and we are happy they signed with us. We are building a team that will be respected and win matches,” Mavuso said.

It will seem Green Mamba are not done with their squad overhaul as Manzini Wanderers captain Mthunzi ‘Chippa’ Motsa, transfer listed Mbabane Highlanders captain Sanele Mkhweli and relegated Malanti Chiefs goalkeeper Xolani ‘Xoxo’ Gama are all reportedly training with Inyok’eluhlazana.

‘Sikhali,’ Sihlangu’s joint all-time top goal scorer with 14 goals, ended 46 days of uncertainty when he signed with Green Mamba last Friday morning before ‘D4D’ followed suit on Monday afternoon. Both stars have had illustrious careers with Sihlangu and Mbabane Swallows, winning literally everything local football could offer before a season stint with South Africa’s Mbombela United.
