Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Highlanders have made one of their biggest signings of the new season in international industrious midfielder, Tshwarelo Bereng.

The former Chippa United and Black Leopards player has joined the black and white ensemble alongside South African lanky striker Joseph Lekata, who is on his second stint with the capital city giants since the 2019/20 season. Bereng has a number of caps at national team level and he has made a series of appearances in the annual COSAFA Cup.

Other new players for the black and white ensemble include Moneni Pirates youthful midfielder Mpendulo Tfomo and Dr Congo- born towering defender Aristo Tamuzi, formerly with Vovovo FC.

The signings were unveiled by the club’s Managing Director Chief Ally Kgomongwe last night at their offices in Ezulwini, ahead of their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup against South Africa Royal AM next month. This was after the 2021/22 MTN Premier League runners-up lost the services of their prolific striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa to Green Mamba.

The club further parted ways with the likes of Tsepo Chaine, Nkosinathi Fakude, Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule, Sanele Mkhweli and Menzi Mamba, among others, during the off -season.

Kgomongwe said they were happy to have acquired the services of the quartet and he believes they would add much need value in the bull’s kraal.

“We are looking to sign more players but we hope that the unveiled players will help the team reach greater heights. We are a big team and we need to make sure that we assemble a strong and competitive squad. We do not depend on an individual and we have a good pool of players that have all it takes to don the famous black and white outfit and represent us well,’’ he said.
