Africa-Press – Eswatini. “Today all Emaswati are able to celebrate their identity, history, culture and language without feeling indebted to anyone.”
These were the words of Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo while wishing all Emaswati a happy Independence Day complemented by 54 years of peaceful coexistence.
The country marked 54 years of independence from colonialism yesterday and Nxumalo stated that since 1968, Emaswati were thankful to God Almighty for the beautiful kingdom and its leaders.
“Our national anthem, national flag and constitution reflect how Emaswati have been working hard to reach the first world status as envisioned and persuaded under the wise and practical guidance of our Head of State His Majesty King Mswati III. We are also thankful to His Majesty King Sobhuza II who led our kingdom to independence. Thanks to our independence,” the government mouthpiece stated.
He further made it known that the country was no longer hostage to any power or political ideology, hence today all Emaswati were able to celebrate their identity, history, culture and language.
“On the development front, no doubt the kingdom has made great strides both in the country’s roads infrastructure and other related development needs. We thank His Majesty’s vision for the first world status and no doubt, the country is making positive and accelerated efforts towards that direction. Government can only urge for the maintenance of the peace and stability of the country going forward.
Wherein, we do not see things from the same perspective and viewpoint, let us engage robustly and candidly untie until we find each other,” Nxumalo appealed.
