Africa-Press – Eswatini. Chief Mfokati has thanked their Majesties for ensuring that after 84 years, there is a new leader at Vusweni.
He was among the 50 chiefs and princes who were last week blessed by the king.
The chief thanked the king and the Indlovukazi for entrusting him and the other chiefs with the responsibility of leading the communities, saying they would work hard to restore peace and stability.
Vusweni was one of the chiefdoms that were engulfed with a leadership dispute for a number years.
Chief Mfokati assured that he would work hand in hand with his brothers who were opposed to him to achieve one common goal for the Vusweni royal household.
“The time now calls for all of us to work together and put our differences aside and work for the well-being of the people as per His Majesty’s advice,” he said.
He further noted that Vusweni had lost a considerable amount of land due to illegal allocation of land and assured that he would work hard together with the inner council to ensure that such practise did not happen again.
“We also have a very brilliant headman and I am very confident that he is going to be the key pillar on issues of development. We are poised in creating a better life for the people and ensure their social welfare,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Ndlaludzaka from Hhelehhele Royal Kraal said he would continue from where his predecessor Chief Mnikwa left off in developing the community.
He said the orphaned and elderly would be prioritised, adding that the royal kraal would ensure that everyone played a role in the area’s development.
“We thank the visionary leadership of Their Majesties, who have implored us to bring the best out of our communities in terms of the people’s welfare and development.
We will work together with other senior princes to make Hhelehhele one of the best in the country,” he said. The chief said the royal household would draw wisdom from Indvuna Mprofethi Sibandze, who has been very instrumental even in the reign of the late chief.
He said they would rely on his wisdom and experience in delivering the best for the people in all the communities under Hhelehhele.
