Africa-Press – Eswatini. With thousands of Emaswati living and working in neighbouring South Africa, the South African Post Office (SAPO) has released prices on how much it will cost to send money to Eswatini and other countries.
According to a press statement released by the South African Government last week, there was a large number of migrant breadwinners in South Africa who send money to their families, and the Post Office has a cost-effective, same-day money transfer service to and from Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria, Mauritius, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique and Eswatini ready.
The service, according to the statement, is available from any post office in South Africa to any post office in the destination country. The transferred funds become available at the destination post office in the foreign country on the same day.
“The service is offered through the Universal Post Union and managed by the International Financial System, a system that automates the processing and management of international money orders.
The system complies with exchange regulations,” part of the statement reads.
It was mentioned that the recipient is not charged when the sender uses the SA Post office to send money.
The service according to the statement is not available from postal agents. An identity document or passport, as well as proof of residence, are required to send and collect money in South Africa.
Commission on money sent to the neghbouring countries is as follows:
Up to E500.00: E44.50
E500.01 – E999.99: E66.6
E1000.00 – E1 999.99: E81.50
E2 000.00 – E5 000.00: E103.60
