Africa-Press – Eswatini. “I regret forwarding him to Their Majesties to endorse him as chief and it’s a big mistake I have ever made.”
Inkhosatana Gelane, who for years has been acting chief of KoNtshingila, said had she known that Chief Bhozongo was going to turn his back on her and do things without consulting her, she would have not even bothered fighting for him to be the next leader to succeed his father Mabonya.
Reports that Chief Bhozongo whose birth name is Sikelela Simelane and his aunt, Gelane are at loggerheads have left the entire KoNtshingila community tight lipped.
This is more so because Gelane had fought tooth and nail to see her brother’s son becoming the next leader even when the rival faction of Ka-Godloza was vigorously opposed to her decision.
However, things have taken a turn for the worst and Inkhosatana Gelane now feels betrayed by Bhozongo who is accused of doing things without her knowledge, including appointing libandla and sidelining her in every activity.
Gelane confirmed that Chief Bhozongo was no longer showing any respect towards her, revealing that she had taken the decision to report him to the authorities.
“He is totally out of hand and I don’t even think he recalls how he got to be in this position. He has decided to spit me out like I never existed, said the Inkhosatana, revealing that the chief had gone behind her back and doing things that she should be consulted on, especially how to go about them.
“It shows how little if any respect he has for me. I have given up on him and how I wish the arms of the clock can be reversed for the decision I made,” she continued. “I fought for him and I risked with my life as there was strong opposition and I managed even to shield him when he was also wanted dead.”
She then disclosed that her life was placed in danger while she supported the chief-in-waiting.
“I was also wanted dead just for standing by him. But he now finds himself more powerful and gloating that he is the leader and forgetting how he got to be there,” said Inkhosatana Gelane.
Gelane further revealed that the straw that broke the camel’s back was when she was summoned to Ludzidzini on Friday where she was informed that Chief Bhozongo had laid a complaint against her to the Ludzidzini council.
“Just yesterday (Friday), I was at Ludzidzini where he reported me. Knowing my stand, I was never shaken as I explained what I know and how all that had been fed to the respected body how far it was from the truth and he was also enlightened on what the consequences of failing to show respect to me were,” she said.
According to Gelane, Chief Bhozongo was in attendance and ‘was told point blank and I don’t want to believe he is deaf not to understand what was being said’. “That he had gone behind my back to report me, I was also surprised but I am one person who is not easily intimidated as long as I stand by the truth and what I know,” she said.
Gelane said she also heard how Bhozongo was allegedly trying hard to hijack projects that were supposed to be at KaGwegwe (KoNtshingila main royal kraal which is Gelane’s stronghold) and diverting them to Ekuhlaleni, which is a site where Bhozongo is expected to have his new royal kraal. She said not long ago, the KaGodloza faction grouped and made it clear that they were not going to allow him or anyone putting up any structure on the said piece of land.
“I am told that together with the clique he was with, they were warned never to touch the land as they did not even know who he is and where he obtained the authority of invading land reserved for other purposes,” she added.
“The KaGodloza people wanted to know why I was not there, hence they told him to leave and not come back again on the land which was earmarked to be his royal kraal. It served him right and I don’t feel sorry for him for such an embarrassment. He asked for it and he is still going to sweat for having turned his back on me,” said Gelane.

Gelane said she was aware how the KaGodloza faction was to celebrate her differences with Bhozongo. The KaGodloza faction had Langa Simelane as the one who was supposed to be the candidate of being the next ruler of KoNtshingila and opposing Sikelela who was Gelane’s choice.
“For all these years I fought for him.
I am hurting and bleeding for what he has done. What I however know is that whatever he is doing, it will backfire. I am bleeding and regretting all the decisions I made which I thought were right in restoring peace at KoNtshingila which the people were hungry for,” said Gelane.
