Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mbabane Highlanders defender Peter Dlamini has reportedly joined 2022/23 MTN Premier League champions Green Mamba on a two-year deal. The former national team Sihlangu player has been on the wish-list of the Ernest Mavuso-led Correctional Services side for a long time now alongside goalkeeper Khanyakwezwe Shabalala. An impeccable source revealed that Dlamini eventually joined Inyoka’eluhlazana after penning a two-year contract yesterday. “Peter signed today with Green Mamba and part of the deal between him and the club is that he will be employed, this year, in the Correctional Services force after agreeing on personal terms,” the source said. The source revealed that the player would definitely join the Correctional Services recruitment at the end of September.

He also disclosed that the player met with His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner and club President Phindile Dlamini to discuss many issues including the role that he was expected to do in the reigning league champions, and it was reported that the player was happy about what was presented to him by the president. Meanwhile, Green Mamba’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mandla Sibiya, confirmed that it was true that the player had joined them, but did not want to go into details of the deal. “Peter just signed with us, but I cannot go into the contract details,” Sibiya briefly said. On the other hand, Mbabane Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Kenneth Dlamini said the last time he checked Peter was a Highlanders player and said he was in the dark about him joining Green Mamba. Green Mamba beat league rivals Mbabane Swallows in the signature of the player after he was also linked with a move to the red and white capital city giants for a long time. The defender will be a second player from the black and white capital giants to join the champions after striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. The national team Sihlangu lethal striker joined Green Mamba at the start of the recently-ended campaign.
