VENTURE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS AN ALTERNATIVE EMPLOYMENT – MINISTER MANQOBA

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has encouraged graduates from Eswatini Cooperatives Development College (ECODEC) and Eswatini National Handicraft College (NHTC) to consider entrepreneurship as an alternative to traditional employment.

He said this during a graduation ceremony where 146 students graduated from both colleges.

Khumalo commended the educators for equipping the graduates with skills to not only seek employment but also become entrepreneurs and employers themselves. He challenged the graduates to utilize the products they have created and the knowledge they have gained to connect with the socio-economic world and solve societal problems.

The minister also mentioned that MOSHI University of Cooperatives in Tanzania has recognized ECODEC as a platform for providing distance learning programs, and ECODEC has received provisional registration from the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC). Furthermore, talks are underway between ECODEC and the University of Eswatini to obtain accreditation, which will enhance their international recognition and attract students from abroad.
