Africa-Press – Eswatini. Currency is circulation in July 2023 has faced an increase of E 83 585 thousand in comparison to July 2023.
The currency in circulation in July 2022 stood at E 1. 25 million while in July 2023 currency in circulation stood at E1.33 million which is a E83 585 thousand increase year-on-year.
This was highlighted by the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) Governor Phil Mnisi in a statement issued last Thursday.
He stated that allocation to SDR’s in July 2022 stood at E2.69 million and E2.95 in July 2023, a E257 thousand increases year-on-year.
In the same statement domestic deposits were highlighted to have decreased by E451 000 seeing as deposits in July 2022 stood at E4.15 million while they were worth E3.7 million in July E2023.
External liabilities increased by E675 000 from E2.1 million in July 2022 to E2.8 million in July 2023. On the other hand, external assets were highlighted to have increased by E683 000 from E9.3 million in July 2022 to E9.9 million in 2023.
“Claims on Eswatini Government were E2.4 million in July 2022 and E2.1 million in July 2023,” outlines the statement.
