Africa-Press – Eswatini. Pigg’s Peak residents are excited and have welcomed that their Member of Parliament Jabulani ‘Buy Cash’ Mabuza is the new Speaker.
The election of Mabuza as speaker of the house of assembly came after some of his supporters had made it known that they wish he would be elected the speaker of the august house.
Mabuza has been cabinet minister for two terms.
Some of the notable names who congratulated Mabuza on his election as Speaker included Busta Vilakati, who is Secretary of the Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers Association and Manager of Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows Football Club.
“On behalf of the Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers we congratulate Mabuza, we believe he will be able to juggle all his roles just fine,’’ he said.
He added that they hoped the newly elected speaker would continue being available to the people of Pigg’s Peak despite his two crucial positions.
Vilakati added that Mabuza’s election as speaker showed that his colleagues understood the kind of a leader Mabuza is.
He said Pigg’s Peak was nothing without Mabuza.
Ever since Mabuza took office as an MP, he has been there for all the people including the elderly, the destitute and even the youth in sports.
“Mabuza is heavily involved in sports, right now he supports Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows and Pigg’s Peak Rangers.
Not only that, a lot of tournaments under Pigg’s Peak are sponsored by him,’’ Vilakati said.
Meanwhile, former Pigg’s Peak Town Council Deputy Mayor Thembisile Dlamini Ngcamphalala said it was in their prayers as residents to see Mabuza being elected Speaker of the house of assembly.
She said Mabuza’s work spoke for itself both at constituency level and national level.
“He is one of a kind who has displayed his capabilities in nation-building and we are happy that his colleagues have entrusted him with such a task,’’ she said.
She added Mabuza would shed light on the new legislators on how society and a nation could be built on unity and cooperation.
She said Mabuza was a man of peace and unity and these will be put to use in the incoming government.
“I am happy that the new MPs decided to elect someone who has experience in the operations and the business of the august House, and I hope they too will learn a lot from his leadership skills,’’ she added.
Elected
Lindokuhle Dlamini said as street vendors and small business people they were elated with Mabuza being speaker.
She said this was good news to them.
She said Mabuza had proven overtime that he was a good leader.
“We are happy as street vendors that the speaker is from our constituency.
“We thank the MPs who voted for him to occupy this very crucial position in parliament,’’ Dlamini said.
