Africa-Press – Eswatini. Local musicians and patrons gathered at Ekhayeni Chillaz on Saturday to donate for Abongile Dlamini, who has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

Abongile, with the assistance of the Swaziland Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (SUFIAWU), underwent an electroencephalogram (EEG) medical test worth E7 000 last month. This was not enough, as her journey to access medical attention to determine what was causing her not to sleep is ongoing. Her mother, Nokuthula Matsebula, stated that following the EEG, the union also assisted them with funds to see a neurologist at the Manzini Clinic. Matsebula said the neurologist suggested that they undergo a computerised tomography (CT) scan, which would determine the cause of Abongile’s head swelling.

Condition

According to Matsebula, her daughter’s condition is worsening, as she now often become unconscious and her hands and feet turned blue and grew cold. According to the mother, this has happened on three occasions and has scared her because this requires her to put Abongile in cold water so she could regain consciousness. DJ Matamza came up with a concept to help raise funds for the minor, where artists would come together and host events that will help raise money for the minor. The Ekhayeni Chillaz show came as a second edition as the first one was hosted at The Destination on September 22. Some of the musicians who came to the event at The Destination included DJ Cash, Chuidy, Prefect, Ace4nic, Matamza, Itsallblaq as well as Russel. The second edition of the show at Ekhayeni was graced by Crooks, Master P, AyaCity, Urcousinphayo, DJ Menzi, Knoxman as well as Paris, to name a few. Matamza shared that they were able to get some donations during the event. “The turnout was much better than the first edition, as we managed to make a few thousands towards donating towards Abongile,” Matamza said. He also shared that the next edition of the donation drive is going to be held at Mega Lounge at a date yet to be announced.
