Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT), had a harrowing experience on his way to the Industrial Court in Mbabane yesterday.

According to the SNAT president, everything happened so fast and in a split second, there were broken glasses all over him. “I tried to check myself if I had been hurt anywhere, but the was no injury. We briefly parked the vehicle on the road side next to Eswatini Beverages in Matsapha, and we tried to look around and there was no one so we decided to rush to the Industrial Court in Mbabane as it was already time for the court case,” disclosed Dlamini.

Shattered

The SNAT president and other members of the organisation were travelling in a mini-bus when an unidentified object shattered the window, causing broken glass to be scattered on their thighs. The incident has left many questions unanswered, with uncertainty surrounding what caused the window to break. Meanwhile, Dlamini, who was seated near the window, recounted the moment of confusion and fear. “I don’t know if it was a bullet or what, what I know is that I saw broken glass scattered on my thighs inside the mini-bus,” he said. Although the cause of the window breakage is uncertain, Dlamini’s concerns have sparked rumours of possible foul play.

Concerns

The occurrence, which has not yet been confirmed, has raised concerns about the safety and security of notable individuals within the union.

When asked about whether the organisation had reported the incident to the Royal Eswatini Service (REPS), he stated that the organisation had not yet decided whether to report it or not. The organisation’s over 15 members were later found at the Industrial Court in Mbabane.
