Africa-Press – Eswatini. The MTN Bushfire Festival team has made it easier for Emaswati to attend the international fest by making tickets cheaper.
This will be through purchasing of the tickets via MTN Eswatini’s Mobile Money for all the phases compared to MTN Bushfire website where they are costly.
This was revealed by the MTN Bushfire Festival Creative Director, Jiggs Thorne, yesterday.
Thorne said they were limited number of specially discounted MTN Bushfire 2024 tickets that were available on MoMo Marketplace (Eswatini only).
This is so as to ensure accessibility to the festival for Emaswati, and to maintain the shared goals of supporting local that MTN Eswatini and Bushfire constantly strive for, according to Thorne.
MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) is also a payment option on the Howler ticket platform and can be used to purchase top-up funds.
Thorne has urged festival goers to get the discounted early bird tickets while stocks last.
Tickets sales commences today at 10am on MTN Eswatini’s MoMo Marketplace or via the MTN Bushfire website, www.bush-fire.com.
The 17th edition of the internationally acclaimed MTN Bushfire festival will be held from 31 May – June 2, 2024 at House On Fire.
Named “Top African festival” by the BBC and hailed by CNN as one of the “seven African music festivals you really have to see,” MTN Bushfire is more than a festival, it’s a living, breathing ecosystem deeply rooted in African soil, yet inclusive and welcoming to guests from all over the world.
This uniquely African yet globally infused family friendly festival experience welcomes thousands of people from over 60 countries in an atmosphere of tolerance and passionate commitment to music, the arts and the environment.
Camping and glamping tickets are also available for purchase through the MTN Bushfire website.
Festival goers are asked to keep their tickets safe and not show the barcode to anyone as this makes them vulnerable to fraud.
“Please note that tickets are not refundable,” said Thorne.
MTN Bushfire has been sold out for the last 10 years running. Early Bird tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
They typically sell out within the day, so festival goers are urged to purchase them as soon as they become available. Phase one Festival tickets will become available for purchase as soon as early bird tickets run out.
How to buy discounted
tickets with MTN MoMo:
ONLY festival goers in Eswatini are able to purchase MTN Bushfire 2024 tickets with MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), through the MoMo Marketplace on WhatsApp or through the Howler ticket portal.
According to the festival’s Creative Director Jiggs Thorne, fans will be able to buy tickets even if their MoMo number is different from their WhatsApp number.
Electronic tickets will be downloaded directly to mobile phones so guests can ‘green your fire’ and save paper by using the e-ticket on their device to enter the festival. Tickets will be emailed as a back-up.
“Tickets can also be pre-loaded with funds for the festival via MoMo. A maximum of five tickets can be purchased at a time.” said Thorne.
