Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Pigg’s Peak Town Council’s projected expenditure for capital projects is set to reach E6 897 616.47 during the 2024/25 financial year.

This capital projects would include installation of 16 solar street light, which is projected to cost at least E800 000. In order to reduce the costs of utility bills, the council would stagger the removal of traditional street lights within the town each year. Another capital project that the Piggs Peak Town Council is set to undertake would be the replacement of Killarney Sports Ground stands at a cost of E300 000. The council also plans to procure a new fleet at a budget of E1 313 973. The council would also upgrade the road behind the town’s hospital at a cost of E4 483 642.62.

Other key budget expenditure for the year 2024/2025 include the following;

IDP Preparation –E356 516.25

Bye-Laws Preparation-E132 600. Local Economic Development-E127 000

Road Maintenance and Pot Hole Patching-E480 805

High Most and Street Light Electricity –E924 363.79

Refurbishment of Public Structures (main focus to Gobolondlo Hall)-E360 323.70

Cemetery Layout and Mapping-E300 000

IT infrastructure including GIS linkange with General Valuation Roll New Server- E422,000.00

Valuation

Overall the budgeted expenditure shows an increase of 1.1 million compared to a budget of 2023/2024. The council ‘s value as per the last valuation roll is E851 million, the council will be conducting the general valuation roll in the financial year 2023/2024. A growth of the town in terms of value is projected, which a number of properties projected to appreciate.
