The nation’s pride players are expected to receive E4 500 each if they will reach the group stages of the ongoing qualifiers of the continent’s showpiece.
The senior national side has already put one foot into the next round of the qualifiers following their 3-0 win over Somalia.
This was during the preliminary round first leg match played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania on Wednesday afternoon.
A source close to the matter revealed that the players would get the bonuses after the return leg billed for Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
The Dominic Kunene-led side are expected to spend one day in Mbombela ahead of the return leg. “The players will get bonuses (E4 500 each) if they reach the group stages of the qualifiers in a bid to boost the morale of the players. The team will also camp in Mbombela and will return home after the qualifiers,” the source said.
Despite getting this information from inside sources, EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe refuted the news when contacted.
“There is nothing like that. I do not know anything about the matter you are talking about,” he said.
