KING COMMISSIONS INGAJA TO CUT LUSEKWANE

Africa-Press – Eswatini. In line with the spirit of paying true allegiance to His Majesty King Mswati III, Eswatini culture and long standing traditions of Incwala, thousands of Ingaja were yesterday commissioned to take advantage of the pouring rains to bring rich Lusekwane shrubs.

The ecstatic Ingaja, who had been earlier gifted with durable sneakers and torch lights, were instructed by the King through Indvuna Finyeza Mncina to walk in song and dance to what was dubbed Esikhaleni seLusekwane for fetching of Lusekwane shrubs.

When issuing the instruction at ngabezweni Royal Residence, Mncina enunciated that Ingaja were expected to remain respectful at all times by obeying instructions from their leaders from the respective communities and chiefdoms.

The King thanked the young warriors for remaining loyal to Their Majesties and for being allegiant and ensuring that Eswatini culture continues to withstand the test of times as it has continued to be revered for hundreds of years.

The advice from Mncina aligned with the message that had been earlier communicated by Indvuna Phanginjobo Metisa when commissioning Ingaja from the northern Hhohho region on Christmas Day.

Metisa also instructed Ingaja to always remain respectful to the King, sigodlo and the entire Eswatini nation in order to avoid attracting curses due to the continued non-defiance of leaders who were blessed by the Almighty God. “Ingaja will come back with Lusekwane that gets eaten by elephants.

The King wishes Ingaja a safe journey that has been blessed by the Lord and free from accidents against all odds.

We wish you well as you travel. Bayethe,” said Mncina much to the rapturous applause of the Ingaja, who chanted and whistled in joy of honouring their culture regardless of the constant drizzling which punctuated the journey.

Prior to leaving Ngabezweni Royal Residence, Ingaja got the rare opportunity to be joined by Sigodlo, Emabutfo and members of the public in dancing to Incwala songs in the presence of His Majesty King Mswati III.

Prince Sicalo said the incwala ceremony symbolised Eswatini culture and who Emaswati are as a nation. “The ceremony is a true reflection of who we are as Emaswati and how much we love and cherish our culture,” he said.

The prince further encouraged Ingaja and all emabutfo who attended the ceremonyand Emaswati in general to show pride in their culture as the annual national prayer was not only about ingaja.

Prince Sicalo also observed that the rains were a blessing and not a deterrent for all who were present and urged Ingaja not to disperse, but to take this asa blessing or emafutsa to fuel them along the way as they embarked on the journey to cut Lusekwane.
