Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Swallows are set to fly high over the weekend after the team put its house in order before the crucial Last 32 games in the SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup.
This will come as a huge sigh of relief to the ‘Beautiful Birds’ supporters as the players are reported to have been paid their salaries.
This was confirmed by a highly-placed source within the team, stating that the players received the salaries last night.
“The players were paid today (yesterday) despite not having trained in the afternoon. Some of the players were not present during a meeting held at the club’s training base and will receive their salaries when they report for training,” said the source.
It has also been gathered that the capital city giants will have two training sessions today, having been inactive in the past two days. This is ahead of their opening match in the sixth edition of the Ingwenyama Cup knockout tournament. Swallows have a date with National First Division side Lozitha Spurs at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday.
A player, who preferred to remain anonymous, said it was true that they got their salaries, saying they also ironed out their differences with the team’s management.
He added that they would be returning full force to the team’s activities, and were ready to protect the reputable brand.
“We will do our level best to win the match against Lozitha Spurs in the Ingwenyama Cup.”
Mbabane Swallows Public Relations Officer Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya said he was still held up and would respond later, but could not respond by the time of compiling this report late last night.
Worth noting is that some of the team’s officials were spotted at the club’s training base last evening, including Board of Governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, PRO ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya and legal advisor Welile Mabuza.
