IN A MEGA TRANSFER DEAL: NSINGIZINI COUGH UP E100K FOR ‘YEKI’

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Nsingizini Hotspurs’ new signing Sizwe ‘Yeki’ Khumalo was reportedly signed for E100 000 from Moneni Pirates.

Last week, this publication reported that Khumalo, a fan favourite, had agreed to personal terms with the Shiselweni-based team. According to latest reports, the former Moneni Pirates player was signed for E100 000, even though Pirates had originally sought E200 000 for the talented player. According to a source involved in the negotiations between the two clubs, the deal was ultimately seen as beneficial for both parties.

Revitalise

The player, who is looking to revitalise his career, will have the opportunity to do so in a new environment. He is said to have signed a longer contract with the club. “Yeah, it’s true that ‘Yeki’ was signed for E100 000, even though Moneni Pirates wanted more at first. Apparently, the two presidents of the clubs worked it out and Nsingizini ended up paying E60 000 up front with the rest to be paid later,” the source said. The new Nsingizini midfielder said he was happy to join the team and was ready to repay the faith shown by the MoMo cup champions in him.

Happy

“I’m really happy to be joining Nsingizini from Moneni Pirates. Everyone here has been super welcoming and it already feels like home. I just want to give a shout-out to Moneni for everything they did for me and for always believing in me. I’ll always love them, and I wish them all the best for the rest of the season,” he said.

Meanwhile, the team Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sibusiso ‘Mnotfo’ Dlamini said he was blank on the transfer fee that was used to buy the player.

“I’m not sure of the exact transfer fee, but we are definitely happy to have signed ‘Yeki’. He fits our team’s style of play and his youth and potential make him a valuable addition. We hope he’ll be able to contribute to the team like all of our players, and we’ll do everything we can to support him, just like we do with all of our players. As a club, we strive to help our players focus on their performance on the field and not be distracted by off-the-field issues,” he said.

Invest

To improve performance and achieve success, professional soccer teams often invest in new players. While the cost can be high, it can bring numerous benefits, such as improved performance, increased fan excitement, competitiveness, media attention and sponsorship opportunities. Therefore, careful investment strategies are crucial for long-term success. The price tag is one of the highest in the country in recent times. It has matched the transfer fee of Mbabane Highlanders striker Bonginkhosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini, who was signed from Royal Leopard back in 2022.

Nsingizini Hotspurs, under the leadership of Derick Shiba, recently announced the signing of Alexio Sigion from Zimbabwe as their new coach. In addition to Sigion, the club has also signed several new players, including Nyasa Chintuli, Alvin Shabashie, and Sambulo ‘Masoso’ Simelane. Chintuli made an immediate impact in his debut game, scoring a hat-trick against Royal Leopard. Simelane, who had previously been on loan at Rangers FC, has now signed a new contract with Nsingizini.
