Africa-Press – Eswatini. South African legendary kwaito group, Trompies, gave a stunning performance during their live concert which was held at Ekhayeni Chillas on Sunday.
The not so friendly weather failed to dampen the spirits of fun lovers as the crowd danced in the rain from the moment the legendary group mounted the stage.
The legends literally heated up the place with their energetic performance.
They have not lost their 80s and 90s dancing skills.
Performing hit songs such as ‘Sweety Lavo’, ‘Ukujaiva’, ‘Sigiya Ngengoma, ‘Magsma’, they made sure everyone was on their feet and dancing in the rain. The kwaito group gave Emaswati a perfect two hours set.
They first performed just before midnight and later gave their fans something to munch on their way back home at 3am.
This was when Jakarumba joined the crowd and danced in the rain as he showed his fans what ‘pantsula’ was not what they are used to know, which is amapiano.
Massive
The group’s journey is typified by a trail of massive genre-defining hits that spark nostalgia for many 80s and 90s born South Africans. The group is made of Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng, Eugene ‘Donald Duck’ Mthethwa, Jairus ‘Jakarumba’ Nkwe, and Zyne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika (who recently left the group).
