Africa-Press – Eswatini. Textile workers in Nhlangano have resolved to return to work pending negotiations with their employers.

Reached for comments, Wander Mkhonza, the Secretary General of the Amalgamated Trade Union of Swaziland(ATUSWA) confirmed that a majority of textile workers resolved to return to work after the Labour Advisory Board recommended negotiations.

“It’s true that workers resolved to go back to work pending negotiations with the employers”, said the ATUSWA Secretary General.

The textile workers have been on strike for almost two months now, they were demanding a salary increase of fifteen Rands(R15.00) per hour.

Textile workers in eSwatini are underpaid after the government approved low-paying Gazettes that turned the workers into cheap labour.
