Africa-Press – Eswatini. Danger Nhlabatsi, the Director of Eswatini Red Cross Society has been suspended on allegations of fraud and corruption, Bongani Masuku, the Board President confirmed to this publication on Sunday morning.

This comes after an investigative article published last week where Director who holds the position of Secretary General in the organization, was accused of being involved in looting donor funds particularly, in the recent R12million project that was meant to benefit emaSwati.

Responding the Board President said, as the Board and after reading the article, they resolved to suspend those implicated and launch an internal investigation.

Nhlabatsi who allegedly colluded with junior employees in the alleged corruption, was suspended together with Wakhile Dlamini, the Disaster Coordinator and Procurement Officer Sizwe Sibeko.

“It’s true, as the Board, we resolved to suspend those implicated pending investigations”, said the Eswatini Red Cross Board President.

The Board President then made a joke demanding to know where this journalist sourced his cellphone number.

“Ngoba phela Nkhosi loku ushaya nje utetfula kutsi ungubani sengiyetfuka kutsi ngabe sengoneni-ke Nkhosiyami ngoba wena awumani ushaye. Kodvwa-ke injalo indzaba Nkhosi luphenyo luyacala masinyane”, he said.
