Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Girl Child Boy Child Foundation has donated dignity packs to 400 learners at Mzaceni Primary School to promote personal hygiene and healthy habits among children in rural Eswatini. This event took place on 5 June 2025.

The donation, made possible through a partnership with Premier Bakeries, included 500ml Sunlight bar soap, a face cloth, 100ml toothpaste, a toothbrush, 250ml Vaseline, 200ml shoe polish, a shoe brush, and bread. The Foundation aims to provide each learner with a dignity pack per term while encouraging good grooming and health practices.

Established in 2024, the Girl Child Boy Child Foundation is a grassroots non-profit organisation focused on empowering primary school children in rural communities through education on personal hygiene, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), positive mindset building, and life skills development.

Speaking to this publication, Director Simphiwe Dlamini said, “Children from rural communities are often left behind when it comes to exposure, development, and access to opportunities. We’re here to bridge that gap by equipping them with non tangible tools they need to thrive using education, skills-building, and a fun, interactive edutainment approach.”

The Foundation’s approach also targets long term change, with plans to expand its reach to more schools across the country. However, as a donation dependent initiative, its work hinges on support from individuals and corporate partners.

The organisation is located at Liqhaga House in Manzini. Those interested in supporting or partnering with the Girl Child Boy Child Foundation can contact them via their Facebook page or call 7628 1211, 7933 9951, or 7840 0224.
