Africa-Press – Eswatini. The ministry of Education has issued a strong call to all schools across Eswatini that will participate in Eswatini schools sports association tournament to uphold integrity and fairness in schools games.
Speaking during the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) With Eswatini TV and Eswatini Schools Sports Association, undersecretary of the ministry of Education, Lungelo Nhlengetfwa emphasized the importance of maintaining honesty and sportsmanship among participating schools. The MoU, established in partnership with the Eswatini Schools Sports Association, marks a significant step forward in promoting competition among students, Nhlengetfwa warned against the unethical practice of allowing non-schooling candidates to part take in school sports.
‘We advise against the signing of non-schooling candidate.’ said Nhlengeftwa. ‘The students must be of the same age group, which promotes balance and fairness during the competitions. It is important that games are played in a spirit of honesty, providing an equal opportunity for everyone to showcase their talent”. He emphasized.
The minister also highlighted the need to maintain discipline and respect during games. He pointed out that, with matches set to be broadcasted live to a wider audience, any unruly behavior, including fighting or disruptive conduct could tarnish the reputation of Eswatini’s sports culture.
‘’The Eswatini Schools Sports Association is advised to make sure that under no circumstance should noise, distractions, or fights should ruin the beautiful games,’ He added. ‘Our sports events will not be viewed by the Eswatini community, but also audiences from neighboring countries. It is vital that we demonstrate our commitment to behaving well.’ stated Nhlengeftwa.
As preparations for the schools sports tournament continues, the nation looks forward to an exciting season of schools sports filled with outstanding performances, sportsmanship, and moments of pride.
