Africa-Press – Eswatini. Moneni Pirates Football Club, has issued a heartfelt appeal to its supporters following a string of disappointing results in the MTN Premier League.

In an official statement released on Sunday 4/04/2025, Public Relations Officer Meluleki ‘Sluga’ Simelane addressed the club’s loyal fanbase, acknowledging the frustration after consecutive draws but urging unity and continued support.

The Pirates, affectionately known as “Mabhakaniya,” has stated that even though, recent performances have fallen short of expectations, with the club’s ambition to reclaim its former glory facing new challenges. Simelane’s message was clear “Drawing back to back games is not the standard we set for ourselves each result, each match, we feel it just as deeply as you do.”

Rather than assigning blame, Simelane called for solidarity, emphasizing that “pointing fingers and placing blame, whether on players, the technical team, or any individual, will not move us forward. We are one club, one family.” He reassured supporters that the entire club-from players to management-is working tirelessly to improve results and restore pride.

This rallying cry comes at a time of transition for Moneni Pirates, who have recently undergone significant leadership changes and continue to focus on rebranding and development. Despite finishing a difficult 2023/24 season in 12th place, the club has a history of bouncing back from adversity. The current leadership, under Chairman Thulani Xaba, has set ambitious targets for both on-field performance and off-field growth.

Simelane’s statement concluded with optimism: “Victories are coming. We believe in our squad, we believe in the process, and above all, we believe in you, the 12th man.” He urged supporters to rally behind the team, reinforcing the club’s identity as a united family determined to bring back the glory days.

As the Pirates look ahead to upcoming fixtures, the message from the club is unmistakable unity, belief, and unwavering support will be the keys to turning the tide.
