Africa-Press – Eswatini. Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane, the SwaziMed Chief Executive Officer(CEO) allegedly transferred R1.5million public funds to his personal account at Old Mutual Eswatini.
A proof of payment leaked on Thursday evening by Financial Intelligence sources suggests that, Simelane transferred the money last week and this, was in the midst of a court battle as the Governing Board led by Bheki Maziya was challenging his legitimacy as the Chief Executive Officer”.
It has been disclosed that, Simelane transferred the money at the time when the court was about to rule whether he was legally in office or not after resisting a lawful suspension.
A questionnaire was sent to the SwaziMed CEO however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, the Board of Directors might urgently approach the court on Friday morning, seeking an order interdicting Simelane from continuing with his duties pending the appeal he filed against an order granted in favour of the Governing Board.
The court order was confirming Simelane’s suspension and that, “the Governing Board led by Bheki Maziya is legally in office with powers to suspend him”.
