Africa-Press – Eswatini. Artemis Group Holdings and Kwakitsi Foundation deliver nourishment and new hope at Mbetseni Primary School!
(7 May 2025), the grounds of Mbetseni Primary School were filled with joy, gratitude, and the aroma of a warm meal as over 300 children were served a hot, nutritious lunch during the second edition of “Cooking for the Kids.”
This impactful initiative is spearheaded by the Kwakitsi Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness (HRH) Princess Temtsimba. With generous sponsorship from Artemis Group Holdings, the event brought together a passionate team of volunteers, caregivers, and corporate partners, all united by a common goal: ensuring no child went home hungry. Their collective effort turned an ordinary school day into one of compassion and community upliftment.
“This is more than just a meal—it’s a demonstration of love, dignity, and shared responsibility for the wellbeing of our children,” said Shanice Reid, speaking on behalf of HRH Princess Temtsimba.
School Principal Mr. Mavuso expressed heartfelt appreciation:
“We thank HRH Princess Temtsimba for sending Kwakitsi to bless our school. These donations will make a real difference. We hope this mission continues—not just here, but in other schools too.”
He also raised an appeal for assistance with repainting the school and repairing the cooking area, prompting discussions among stakeholders about building a sustainable model for on-going support.
Eswatini continues to grapple with high rates of childhood malnutrition, with 25% of children under five affected by stunting due to chronic undernourishment. Programs like Cooking for the Kids offer a lifeline—providing not only food, but a sense of hope and community.
Looking ahead, the Kwakitsi Foundation plans to expand the programme to more schools throughout the year. For companies like Artemis, it offers a meaningful opportunity for high-impact corporate social responsibility (CSR) that delivers real, visible outcomes. With momentum growing, Kwakitsi encourages more partners to come on board and help multiply the reach and impact of this life-changing initiative.
