With just two games remaining in the season, the club is eyeing the championship title, an achievement that marks a stunning turnaround from their struggles in recent years.
The road to the top has nit been easy for Liverpool. Just two seasons ago, Usuthu found themselves languishing in 12th place, far from the title conversation. But the team refused to give up. The following season saw a massive improvement as they surged to 2nd place, laying the foundation for the success they enjoy today. Now they are at the top of the table making their mark to the championship.
Speaking to this publication, Usuthu Liverpool secretary Sengcebo Ngcamphalala, said that maintaining top position is a great achievement for the team following their hard luck in previous seasons. “It’s a great achievement for us because at super league we had three seasons and the previous first and second did not go well since the team maintained position 12 and 2. Now sitting at the top means great achievement for us.”Said Ngcamphalala.
He further stated that his team is working so hard and their boys are self motivated to make sure that they come glorious at the end of the season. “Our team is focused and they are self motivated to do trainings at their own spare time without expecting supervision from the coaches. With the two games remaining we are looking forward to making history and raise a trophy.” Added Ngcamphalala.

Richmond claimed a 3-1 victory over Home Sparrows, Big Bend Youngsters edged Umntjezi 2-1, and Usuthu Liverpool continued their strong form with a narrow 1-0 win over Kubuta Celtics. Elsewhere, Brave Lions and Samampel drew 1-1, Rail United snatched a 1-0 win over Sikhalo se Africa, USA Distillers played out a 2-2 draw with CPL, and Ubombo Flyers and Malahleni ended their match goalless.
