The Mbabane-based haven of wellness has just scooped the prestigious Professional Spa Award 2025, walking tall among Southern Africa’s crème de la crème.
The glitzy awards ceremony took place at The Capital Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 17 May 2025, and Eswatini’s own was there to represent.
The award, presented by The Spa Consultants Brand, is no ordinary nod. It is reserved for spas that pull out all the stops, from top-notch treatments and polished staff to seamless branding and soul-soothing ambiance.
The judges weren’t just any panel either, three independent mystery guests were unleashed to do the undercover work. They rated everything, from spa menu design to social media vibes, and The White Orchid passed with flying colours.
Speaking with a glow of pride, the spa’s founder and boss lady Cara Breero said being recognised on such a competitive regional platform was deeply humbling.
“It’s more than just a win, it’s confirmation that every little detail we obsess over, from the warm towels to the final spritz of essential oils, truly matters,” she said.
Cara, a trained somatologist who built the spa with a vision for holistic care, revealed that the award was earned through sheer dedication and teamwork.
“We’re not just offering facials and massages, we’re offering an experience. Our clients feel seen, valued, and renewed, that’s our secret,” she added.
To even be in the running for the award, spas had to first make it into the Grade A category. That meant scoring big on everything from hygiene and therapist professionalism to service presentation and retail displays. Only then could they be considered for the crown.
White Orchid’s meticulous attention to detail, from scented candles to curated treatment rooms, clearly hit the mark. Reviewers praised the spa for its consistent brand identity both online and onsite, friendly and well-groomed staff, and an atmosphere that spells relaxation with a capital R.
Cara said the recognition is also a win for Eswatini.
“We are proving that world-class standards can thrive in our small but mighty kingdom. We’re grateful for every client who has supported our journey, this award is also theirs.”
With this win, White Orchid Day Spa isn’t just raising the bar, it’s setting the standard. And as far as self-care goes, it seems the kingdom has a new crown jewel.
