Marwick Khumalo, the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) and Chairperson of the Finance Committee has tabled the Taiwan R5.2billion Strategic Oil Reserve Project assessment report and as a result, the Loan Bill is highly expected to be debated and passed by Parliament on Tuesday morning.

The report suggests that, the project will provide about eight hundred(800) construction jobs for emaSwati particularly Siphofaneni residents and further improve access to petroleum products like fuel in the rural areas at lower prices.

Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Nomalungelo ‘LaZwide’ Simelane is among the MPs “who support the Taiwan project and is highly expected to vote in favour of it on Tuesday morning”.

But the MPs who expressed support for the project inside Parliament on Monday after MP Khumalo tabled the report, suggested that all emaSwati who might be affected by the project at Siphofaneni must be compensated for their land after the resettlement.
