Africa-Press – Eswatini. Lomvula Hlophe, the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) is known as a ‘no-nonsense’ prosecutor in the legal circles, particularly on issues involving the abuse of children.
In a leaked office audio, the DPP is heard saying “lona ngimfuna ejele ngeke kumsite kuya kuba-prophethi, ngabe usebentisa lelitfuba lanikwe lona le-bail kulungisa tintfo takhe before angene ngekhatsi”.
State prosecutors told that, the DPP is an expert on issues involving abuse of children and women and is normally “hands-on” when handling such cases.
“She is very dedicated on such issues, once you rape or abuse a child, you are in trouble if the case is handled by the DPP because she will make sure the evidence is sufficient enough for a conviction”, said a source within the DPP’s office.
Efforts to reach the Director of Public Prosecutions for a comment proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, former Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo stands accused of raping children across the country but, the police managed to arrest him for raping two(2) children.
