Africa-Press – Eswatini. MILLING Hotspurs and Rangers have kissed the Premier League goodbye.

The two sides joined Tinyosi and Malanti Chiefs in the list of four teams that have been relegated from the elite league at the end of the exhilarating campaign.

Fairview-based Milling failed to consolidate their three seasons’ stay in the Premier League after playing to a 1-all draw against Manzini sea Birds at the King Sobhuza II Stadium yesterday.
The Mpendulo Mawelela-led side needed a win in order to avoid the dreaded axe after Tambuti’s 2-1 win over the already-relegated Tinyosi at Mayaluka Stadium.

Newcomers Rangers suffered the same ordeal as they played to a goalless draw against Vovovo at the Prince of Wales Ground.

Lowveld based outfit Tambuti survivedthe chop on the last day with a hard-fought 2-1 win over already relegated Lobamba-based side Tinyosi in their own backyard.

The number off relegated clubs will be endorsed during the off-season at the EFA General Assembly, after the Premier League requested the football mother body to reduce the number of relegated teams to two from four in the elite league.

The plea further stated that only four teams should be relegated from the National First Division instead of the stipulated six.

The title race and the CAF inter-club competitions’ spaces will be decided on Sunday during the Mbabane and security forces derbies.

The curtains will finally fall with the capital city derby between bitter-rivals Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders and the security forces derby between Royal Leopard and Young Buffaloes at the Mavuso Sports Centre and Kalanga Stadium respectively.
