Africa-Press – Eswatini. Their Majesties King Mswati III and Her Majesty the Indlovukazi received five cattle from the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) during the 22nd Police Day and Passing Out Parade celebrations at the Matsapha Police Academy on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The occasion, which also marked the 118th anniversary of REPS, was one of reflection, pride, and gratitude as police officers honoured Their Majesties with gifts symbolising loyalty and appreciation.
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who presided over the event, made the announcement shortly before inviting His Majesty King Mswati III, the Commissioner-in-Chief of Police, to address the nation and the force. The premier revealed that of the five cattle presented, two were directed to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, while three were offered to His Majesty the King.
The celebrations were further brightened by the Infant Green Drill Squad, who presented three goats to Their Majesties. Two of these were for His Majesty the King, while one was for Her Majesty the Indlovukazi.
In addition to livestock, the police also pledged financial support for charity. Prime Minister Dlamini announced that an amount of E60 000 had been presented to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi. The funds are earmarked for the Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, which continues to play a vital role in supporting vulnerable groups across the country.
The event not only celebrated the discipline and service of the police force but also reflected the enduring bond between the monarchy and the men and women in uniform. By presenting gifts of livestock and contributing to charitable causes, REPS reaffirmed its commitment to both cultural values and community development.
The gesture added a rich cultural dimension to the day’s festivities, blending tradition with modern recognition of service. As the parade and commemorations unfolded, the gifts stood as a reminder of unity, respect, and shared purpose between the police service and the monarchy.
Last year, during the 21st Police Day and 117th Anniversary celebrations held on July 22, the police also donated five cattle to Their Majesties. Three of the cattle belonged to His Majesty the King, while two of them belonged to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi. They also donated E60 000 to the Queen Mother, which would be directed to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation.
